Journeyman Electrician - Cannon Construction

Cannon Companies is looking for a qualified applicant to join our team as a licensed Journeyman Electrician O1 in Fairbanks, AK.

This will be a full-time, hourly (non-exempt) position with competitive wages. Essential Requirements:

1. Have a valid O1 Electrical License in AK
2. High School diploma or GED certificate
3. Knowledge of NEC electrical codes
4. Eagerness to learn electrical schematics and blueprint reading skills
5. Comfortable communicating with others
6. Motivated to learn and able to adapt to changes when needed
7. Have a current valid Driver's License
8. Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check
9. This role is a Safety Sensitive position and requires Military Base Access
10. Travel may be required

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment.
2. Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment
3. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly, hazardous, unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
4. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps
5. Installs controls as well as distribution apparatus, like switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand and power
6. Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment
7. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility as well as safety of components, using testing instruments like ohmmeter, battery buzzer and oscilloscope
