Our organization is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our Engineering team. This is a permanent position with the opportunity for growth and advancement. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a wide range of electrical tasks, including but not limited to electrical wiring, mounting boxes, commercial industrial and some residential HVAC, industrial electrical work, and electrical equipment installation. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of safety procedures, the ability to work in diverse environments, and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
2. Perform general electrical maintenance on commercial HVAC systems.
3. Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
4. Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
5. Manage wiring and electrical systems in industrial settings.
6. Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment for alarm and other systems.
7. Install safety and distribution components such as switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
8. Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
9. Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
10. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
11. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as an electrician with a minimum of 5+ years in a similar role.
2. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
3. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
5. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
7. Valid license to practice the profession. MUST BE LICENSED IN MINNESOTA!
8. Experience with electrical equipment installation and industrial electrical work.
9. Proven experience with commercial HVAC systems.
10. Proficient in mounting boxes and preparing and assembling conduits.
