Journeyman Electrician

Hourly Wage: $28.29/Regular/Full-Time
Responsible for all electrical service from the load side of the meter base that is owned or controlled by the Yakama Nation under the responsibility of the Public Works & Utilities Program.
Examples of Work Performed:
Incumbent will perform a vast variety of skilled trade work with emphasis on electrical system i.e., new installation, retrofit, maintenance & repair.
Any tools determined to be specialty tools will be provided by the program.
Incumbent will perform electrical inspection on tribally owned or controlled facilities. It is imperative incumbent is fully knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and W.A.C. Washington Administrative Code which are the codes that will be followed and applied during inspections to ensure that all facilities meet the minimum code requirements that will protect the occupants of these facilities from serious injury or death due to fire or electrical shock.
Upon completion of an inspection, incumbent will place an inspection tag on the meter with incumbent's name certifying that the facility meets the minimum code requirements under the NEC.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledgeable of all electrical wiring configuration with emphasis on 480v 277 30 120/240v 10 *0 = Phase 120/240 DECIA.0.
Knowledgeable and able to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints as they apply to all electrical apparatuses.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and W.A.C. (Washington Administrative Code), WAC 296-46B (Electrical Safety Standards and Installations).
Knowledgeable of safety regulations and occupational hazards that are associated with working with electricity.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions that give direction to incumbent's daily tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of a High School Diploma and must have attended and completed vocational training for Journeyman Electrician. Required to possess a Journeyman Electrical Card certified in the State of Washington. Required minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a commercial or industrial environment with documentation.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb and bend, will work both indoors and outdoors.
Must be current with the Continued Education Training (CET) required to maintain certification.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Requirements:
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
