Journeyman Instrument Maintainer |Palmyra, NY
Salary: $62k-$75k (DOE) | Medical, dental, vision, 401k
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Installs, repairs, maintains, adjusts and programs all types of precision recording, regulating, and control instruments in the plant involving a high degree of skill and experience with complex control mechanisms. Which may include instrument configuration, PID loop tuning, recipe programming.
Works on electrical, air, steam, pressure, and temperature controllers, regulators, and gauges as well as mechanical devices used for measurement, process control, and test purposes.
Tests, cleans, adjusts, and calibrates instruments and small gauges to coincide with established standards.
Makes repairs to gauges and instrumentation including the replacement of controllers and component parts of instrumentation.
Responsible for the calibration of instrumentation and record keeping associated with all instrumentation tasks.
Preforms electrical troubleshooting repairs related to the instrumentation inputs and outputs such as sensors, solenoids, axillary relays, drives and motors.
Performs electrical repairs related to the instrumentation inputs and outputs such as auxiliary relays, small motors, and solenoids.
Interprets complex technical diagrams, printed matter, sketches, programs and exercises ingenuity coupled with analytical approach to solve problems and to adjust precision linkages.
Installs or removes control apparatus.
Prepares and maintains historical data and electronic tracking on each piece of apparatus scheduled for follow-up.
Works with engineering to create new or edit existing procedures and controlled documents.
Works with operators/supervisors regarding planning and scheduling equipment availability
Contacts outside vendors for questions on installation and maintenance of new equipment.
Submits required reports to supervisor.
PC Proficiency to include database applications
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Keeps work area clean.
Performs other jobs as assigned by Supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Extensive education and experience in electrical trade and instrumentation. High degree of knowledge of measurements/calibration for flow, pressure, temperature control and repairs of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. Requires electrical or mechanical background with courses in algebra, trigonometry, and physics. PC Proficiency to include database applications (ex: Gage Trol) and MS office applications (ex: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) and Oracle

MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: 30lbs (anything over 30 lbs requires two people or mechanical lifting device)
WORKING CONDITIONS: Dust, dirt, noise, may have exposure to weather (depending on
assignment)
