Jr. Corporate Counsel - Applied Optoelectronics, Inc.

Summary

We are seeking a candidate that will perform in-house corporate law duties, legal research, writing and analysis, contract review, and providing day-today support for the company’s legal team. The candidate is expected to have a strong grasp of fundamentals on legal processes such as: Issue identification, researching governing law, and investigating facts and analysis.

Job Duties

• Assist in the review and drafting of contracts and agreements

• Provide support on corporate governance, board materials and SEC filings

• Research unique legal issues impacting the organization

• Assist in maintaining corporate records

• Manage various projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Provide general legal support to Sr. Counsel and Legal Staff

• Help provide legal advice and develop effective solutions for the company

• General office duties as needed or required

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate Degree from Accredited Law School

• Experience in corporate legal environment is a plus

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suit (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Chinese Mandarin is preferred

• Time Management, multi-tasking projects, Organization

• Ability to assess business implications of legal advice

• Self-motivated and ability to work in a diverse, dynamic environment

• Positive attitude, high degree of integrity with ethics and dedication to meeting goals and deadlines

• Professional demeanor when dealing with internal and external customers

• Must be good standing member of the State Bar of Texas or licensed to practice Law in another jurisdiction or awaiting bar results from July 2024 Bar Exam

Location

This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
