The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant will possess:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (internship experience is a plus)
- Superior analytical abilities to identify and resolve accounting issues
- A proactive mindset and strong work ethic to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally
Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Record fixed assets and calculate depreciation
- Support monthly/quarterly/year-end financial close processes
- Conduct financial compliance and regulatory reporting activities
- Stay up-to-date on changes to accounting regulations and standards
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and precision
- Monitor and analyze potential unclaimed property liability
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited university
- Minimum 3.2 undergraduate GPA
- A year of accounting experience, via work or internship experience (exceptional recent graduates considered)
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP's
- Experience with bank reconciliations is a plus
