POSITION OVERVIEW
NBME is seeking a Junior Business Development Manager who will play a critical role in maintaining and expanding relationships with medical schools and health professions training programs. As a member of the Customer Success team, the successful candidate will serve as a liaison to support business retention and growth by ensuring our customers maximize the value of NBME's assessment portfolios. This role requires a strong background in sales or customer success, ideally within STEM, medical education, assessment, or higher education sectors. The ideal candidate will have a consultative sales approach and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholder groups to drive improvements in student learning outcomes.
This role has been designated as primarily remote, offering flexibility in how and where you work, with little to no onsite attendance required. We are open to considering candidates in NJ, PA, MD, or DE. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a primary contact between NBME and key stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Perform business development, account management, and sales functions to meet revenue goals, prevent product churn, and ensure mission-driven outcomes.
- Collaborate with teams across NBME, including Outreach, Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Services, to deliver seamless support and effective solutions to customers.
- Maintain and expand relationships with medical schools and other stakeholders to inform NBME's Product Management team about current and future needs.
- Travel to conferences and client sites (approximately 10%) to strengthen relationships and promote NBME products.
- Attend quarterly in-office workdays and other team meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including presenting to high-level stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines.
- Collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and change.
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Salesforce/CRM experience is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management.
- Experience engaging with diverse customer stakeholder groups, with a focus on consultative sales.
- Proven track record of using data to identify market needs, trends, and inform customer strategy.
- Experience in STEM, medical education, or educational assessment preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Compensation we are offering for this position ranges $73,403 - $100,000/year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
