The Opportunity:
Join our team as a Junior Design Strategist. In this client-facing consulting role, you’ll participate in uncovering and addressing client needs through human-centered problem-solving approaches. This position is ideal for a passionate and collaborative individual, and it provides exposure to a wide range of projects in workplace, healthcare, education, and hospitality sectors, alongside a team of dedicated strategists and designers. This position may also involve developing and delivering change management strategies to support clients through organizational transitions and shifts, helping them effectively manage the human and operational aspects of change.
Note: For students currently enrolled, this opportunity begins with a 3-month paid internship, with the potential for full-time employment upon completion.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement and Co-Facilitation: Assist in the facilitation of workshops, interviews, and other client-facing engagements to gather insights and co-create solutions.
- Data Analysis & Visualization: Support data analysis efforts and help transform findings into compelling visuals for presentations, using PowerPoint and Excel with high proficiency.
- Proposal and Sales Support: Contribute to the development of proposals and support sales activities, helping to frame our approach to solving client challenges.
- Project Management: Engage in project management activities, including scheduling, meeting minutes, milestone tracking, and reporting to keep projects on track.
- Client Material Development: Work with senior team members to create engaging materials for client presentations, workshops, and strategy sessions.
- Market and Design Research: Conduct market research and participate in other research activities, drawing insights to inform our human-centered, problem-solving approach.
- Communications & Change Management: Assist in drafting client-facing and internal communications that clearly convey strategic recommendations.
- Administrative Support: Provide various forms of support, ensuring smooth client interactions and well-coordinated internal operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Design, Architecture, Psychology, or a related field. 2-4 years of work experience required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills are essential for effectively conveying insights and ideas.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications; the ability to create visually compelling presentations is key.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Miro is an asset.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative social science research design and mixed-methods data collection is an asset.
- A passion for design and the physical environment, with a strong interest in user-centered, design-driven problem-solving.
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with the team.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to support multiple projects effectively.
- A proactive, collaborative team player who thrives in a client-focused, consulting role.
Hybrid Model (3 days working in the office and 2 days working remotely)
Salary Range: $35.00 per hour
Location: Toronto, New York, Washington DC, or Pittsburgh
