About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Estimator to join our growing construction team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a strong interest in construction estimating, government bidding, and with an eagerness to learn and contribute to the accurate pricing and cost management of projects. The Junior Estimator will work closely with our lead estimator and project managers to prepare cost estimates for construction projects, helping ensure the accurate forecasting of labor, materials, and equipment.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work can fluctuate, work week runs Monday through Friday and hours are 40 hours per week.
- Monday-Friday
- Must be able to work within the core office hours of 6:00AM to 5:00PM
- 40 hours, overtime after 40 hours
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Cost Estimation Support: Assist in gathering and analyzing data to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs from blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to calculate material and labor requirements.
- Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing and reviewing bid proposals, including soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotes, and ensuring the estimates align with project specifications.
- Research and Analysis: Help research and identify similar historical jobs, pricing and estimated hours, while staying up-to-date with market trends and pricing for various construction activities.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized documentation of estimates, drawings, and related correspondence for future reference and audits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with lead estimator, project managers, and other team members to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect the project scope and budget.
- Project Tracking: Assist in monitoring project budgets and cost performance throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying areas of concern and potential cost savings.
- Job Creation: Cross train in helping to set up jobs in our ERP system (Sage 300) and sending out applicable quotes/bids to customers as needed.
- Learning & Development: Actively participate in training sessions, industry seminars, and workshops to build knowledge in estimating practices, construction processes, and project management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Some experience in construction or estimating is a plus but not required
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Teams, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
