- Client Consultation and Needs Assessment:
- Engage with clients to understand their design vision, preferences, and lifestyle requirements.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and identify design opportunities.
- Collaborate with clients to develop design concepts, mood boards, and color schemes that align with their objectives.
- Space Planning and Layout Design:
- Create functional and aesthetically pleasing floor plans and layouts that optimize space utilization.
- Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) that complement the design concept and meet budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to seamlessly integrate design elements into construction plans.
- Material and Finish Selection:
- Source and recommend materials, finishes, and decorative elements, such as flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and hardware.
- Evaluate product samples and prototypes to ensure quality, durability, and aesthetic compatibility.
- Stay updated on design trends, product innovations, and sustainable materials to inform design decisions.
- Presentation and Communication:
- Prepare and present design proposals, renderings, and presentations to clients, clearly conveying design concepts and material selections.
- Communicate with project managers, craftsmen, and subcontractors to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications.
- Respond to client feedback and inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience in residential interior design, preferably within the remodeling or construction industry.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong creative vision, spatial awareness, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
