Job Description
Terrapin is looking for a Junior Laboratory Extraction Technician 1 to join our growing company. As a Boulder, Colo.-based national cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator and processor of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products with plans to open a retail footprint in Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of industry experience, Terrapin was licensed to operate in the Pennsylvania marketplace in 2017, growing to more than 150 employees.
At the direction of the laboratory managers or other lab staff, the Junior Laboratory Extraction Technician 1 is responsible for performing efficient set up / tear down, manufacture and cleaning of all equipment and processes associated with manufacturing operations with general supervision or partnership with other lab technicians. The Junior Laboratory Technician 1 is responsible for adhering to policies and procedures with an emphasis on regulatory related processes such as SOPs and safety to meet the business needs of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for carrying out duties involving extraction of crude oil. This includes operating and maintaining equipment for grinding, hydrocarbon and supercritical CO2 extraction.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean lab, including infrastructure and equipment.
- Assisting the extraction team with preparation of materials for the day's extractions as well as helping to tear down, turn around, and set back up extraction equipment as needed.
- Responsible for accurate data entry and inventory.
- Assisting in the formulation of final products before they are sent to the filling line as needed.
- Assist the filling line staff in preparation and tear down of equipment as needed.
- Assist packaging and other departments as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be able to pass state-mandated background checks.
- Education or Equivalent: A high school diploma is required. Prior laboratory experience is preferred, though not required.
