As a Junior QA Consultant, you will support the quality assurance lifecycle for the Client, focusing on planning, executing, and reporting test activities for various projects. You will develop and implement test plans, scenarios, and cases, working collaboratively with business partners, PMO, and vendor teams to ensure accurate testing aligned with business needs. This role operates within an Agile framework, emphasizing a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test custom applications and GIS components, ensuring thorough documentation of test plans, scenarios, and cases.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to clarify business requirements and support testing needs.
- Formulate and document test cases, analyze test results, and report issues, with a focus on the user’s perspective.
- Ensure test cases align with QA standards and cover metrics for complete validation.
- Work within an Agile framework to prioritize tasks and support timely project delivery.
- Support business SMEs and analysts in creating UAT test scenarios and conducting defect triage meetings.
- Report weekly testing status and progress to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.
- Identify and address bottlenecks, issues, and risks during the testing lifecycle.
- Document requirement traceability matrices (RTM) and validate application readiness for UAT.
- Prepare sample test data and validate product quality across the development lifecycle.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of QA experience in software development projects, including test automation and execution.
- Experience in mid- to large-scale system projects and Agile environments.
- Strong skills in manual and automated testing, covering system testing, performance testing, and regression testing.
- Proficient in writing and analyzing test scripts, test plans, and documenting test results.
- Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM) and preparing applications for UAT.
- Competence with testing tools such as GitHub, ServiceNow, TFS, and JIRA.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration and reporting across teams.
- Analytical skills for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and improving test coverage.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with mobile device testing, STLC concepts, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with defect management tools (e.g., TFS, JIRA).
- Experience with public sector projects is a plus.
- Software testing certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CAST are advantageous.
