Job Summary
- Assist inventory management and supplies replenishment for the kitchen
- Collaborate with Sous Chef and Chef De Cuisine for the menu development process
- Assist Chef De Cuisine with team training and development
- Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Know and consistently comply with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Ensure availability of food supplies or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
- Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item
- Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to the supervisor
- Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes.
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
- Maintain daily production records
- Keep the work area neat and clean at all times. Cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
- Complete food temperature checks before service
- Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
- Properly close the kitchen with guidance from the Sous Chef and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations to ensure all preparation meets quality standards
Skills & Qualification Requirements
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and maintaining food safety standards
- Organization and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and creativity in culinary presentations
- Formal culinary education or relevant certifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
Work Environment
This job performed usually indoors and outdoors, in a controlled environment, and experiences high level of noise in the work environment. This job has intermittent levels of high stress
Physical Demands
The candidate must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift, stoop, bend, reach, and carry 50+ pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The employee is expected to work an alternating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
