We are currently seeking a K-12 Project Manager for a large construction project in our Houston, TX market.
Project Scope:
Cradle to grave project management, design reviews, design comments to meet standards, procurement of K-12 projects, bid review and evaluation, construction management, RFI, CO, quantity verification, review of monthly contractor pay applications, project liaison for the project team.
Essential Functions:
Design review of plans to ensure design standards are met.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and highly organized.
K-12 experience with construction projects.
PREFERRED:
AIA, CCM, PE
Degree Requirements: Architecture, Construction Science or Engineering.

Project Scope:

Essential Functions:
- Managing and overseeing school construction projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, procurement, and budgeting.
- Reviewing and approving plans for new projects and ensuring that they adhere to federal and state guidelines.
- Coordinating and completing projects on time within budget and within scope.
- Coordinates project planning for individual projects to determine scope of project and resources required.
- Monitors project budgets of individual projects to ensure project costs remain within budget.
- Identifies issues potentially affecting programs during all phases of assigned projects through completion, acceptance and warranty termination.
- Works collaboratively with school center staff to provide a safe environment and with other District support personnel to provide effective resource components.
- Supervises assigned personnel and ensures staff development.
- Coordinates changes in program content, schedule and costs; and prepares reports documenting such changes.
- Ensures timely resolution of construction problems; and recommends approval of change orders.
- Overseeing all aspects of projects.
- Setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of project.
- Preparing reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Work Environment:
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
- The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
- Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
- May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
