Kindergarten-2nd Grade Special Purpose School Program
Westbrook and Pineland Campus (New Gloucester)
Compensation/Pay for K-2 Teachers:
- Ed Techs for the K-2 program start at $15.00 hourly
- Additional $0.50 per hour increase if hired with current Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification
Woodfords Family Services is seeking dynamic individuals to join our new Kindergarten-2nd Grade Special Purpose School Programs in Southern Maine as Ed Tech IIs and IIIs in our special purpose school classrooms. This new program will serve children who have been with Woodfords for preschool and could benefit from more time in the program before transitioning to public school, as well as children from surrounding school districts who may benefit from additional support.
- Teachers (Ed Techs) work in classrooms with school-age children ages 5 to 8 with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Teach our K-2 students skills to help them be successful at home, in school and in the community.
- Teachers (Ed Techs) positively affect the lives of our students, and get to be part of a team that celebrates students' successes.
- Teachers needed to join our programs in Westbrook and New Gloucester
Schedule for K-2 Teachers:
- Monday - Friday
- 8am to 3:30pm
- Full-time Teachers work 37.5 hours weekly
- Our K-2 special purpose schools are open year-round

Key Qualifications of K-2 Teachers:
- Ed Tech II
- A minimum of 60 credit hours required; Associate's degree preferred, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
- Ed Tech III
- A minimum of 90 credit hours required; Bachelor's degree preferred, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
- A minimum of two years' professional experience working with children who have special needs, preferred
- Ability to work a year-round, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm schedule
- Good documentation skills
- A positive attitude and high energy level
About the Role of our K-2 Teachers:
Woodfords' Ed Techs:
- Work directly with Kindergarten through 2nd grade students providing hands on guidance while helping them meet their individualized goals.
- Guide K-2 students toward fulfilling their potential for cognitive, social and emotional growth and maturation.
- Teach students the skills they need to be prepared for elementary school and beyond.
- Are an important member of our Early Childhood Services' K-2 program, work independently with a child, and cooperatively with a team.
We invest in our staff and provide K-2 Teachers with paid training & opportunities for advancement!
- We will teach you the skills and strategies needed to be successful as a Teacher within our K-2 Special Purpose School program.
