Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital and Emergency at South Saunders is seeking an experience Kennel Technician to join our 24-hour full-service veterinary hospital serving Raleigh and surrounding areas.

Oak Heart at South Saunders is a 24-hour primary care and emergency practice located inside the beltline of Raleigh. In addition to the state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, the practice houses a boarding/daycare and grooming facility with on-site training.

Kennel Technician Job Responsibilities:

As a Kennel Technician at Oak Heart South Saunders, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our facility. Your primary responsibilities will include:

-Animal Care and Supervision: Provide compassionate and responsible care to all boarding and daycare pets. Ensure their safety, comfort, and health are top priorities.

-Feeding and Medication: Prepare and administer meals and medications as per individual pet requirements, adhering to prescribed schedules and dietary instructions.

-Exercise and Playtime: Engage in regular play sessions and supervised group interactions to keep our furry guests active, entertained, and socially stimulated.

-Cleaning and Sanitization: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel areas, including regular cleaning of cages, play yards, and common spaces.

-Customer Interaction: Interact professionally and courteously with pet parents, providing updates on their pets and addressing any concerns or questions.

-Monitoring Health and Behavior: Observe pets for any signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes, promptly reporting to the on-duty veterinarian or supervisor.

-Supporting Facility Operations: Assist in various tasks such as receiving new pet guests, completing intake paperwork, organizing supplies, and ensuring proper inventory management.

-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless coordination and teamwork, providing the best possible care for our furry residents.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat most of the workday.
• The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds with or without accommodation.
