Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager in the Pharmaceuticals Oral Solid Dose excipients market space to join our North American Pharmaceutical Sales Team. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Sales function. This position will report to the North American Senior Commercial Sales Director, Life Sciences.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Key Account responsibility in the pharmaceutical small molecule, oral solid dose excipients space in North America.
- Succeeding at these Key Customers based on your existing deep knowledge of and strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers in this market in North America.
- The ability to open doors at these Key Customers to introduce and drive the purchase/usage of Ashland’s broad portfolio of pharmaceutical excipients and ingredients for the small molecule, OSD excipients market. These excipients include Benecel™ HPMC, Klucel™ HPC, Natrosol™ HEC, Aqualon™ EC, Aquarius™ Film Coatings systems, Plasdone™ Povidone and Copovidone, Polyplasdone™ crospovidone, CAVITRON™, CAVAMAX™ and CAVASOL™ Cyclodextrins, etc.
- Negotiating commercial terms including pricing and supply contracts
- Prospecting for new business opportunities including identifying and converting share shift opportunities
- Developing a robust opportunity pipeline and sharing your outstanding work in SalesForce.com
- Attending trade shows and conferences
- Working collaboratively with many brilliant solvers who will be on your immediate NA Team and extended Global Team in the Ashland OSD space.
- Engaging in new ideas and innovation – bring yours to the team as we continue to grow our presence in excipients for large molecule biologics medicines market.
- Travel - You will experience North America and meet your colleagues, customers and industry influencers by traveling 33% of the time or more
- Home base – full flexibility on your location, if it is reasonably close to a major airport
- Actively contribute to the organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on goals and focusing on performance and safety
- Improve the organization capacity and capabilities through building collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent and utilizing positive communications and influence with others
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- A well-established network of industry contacts in this market
- A minimum of five years of successful selling experience in Pharmaceutical excipients/ingredients for the small molecule OSD application space.
- minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prospect and network at the accounts to establish new growth opportunities.
- The ability to relate to all levels in an organization.
- Full, clean driver’s license.
- Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times
- The ability to help the company drive greater value through understanding the business, making complex decisions and creating the new and different
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- B.S in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry or related discipline
