What you'll do:
- Using a consultative approach to cultivate, nurture, and expand existing relationships with the largest food manufacturers in the US.
- Manage an assigned book of regional and core business, develop relationships, and grow these accounts against annual budgeted revenue and margin targets.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets.
- Improve business earnings and cash flow through price implementation, cost reduction, volume mix change, and control of slow-moving inventory and receivables.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
- Monitor industry activities and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.
- Conduct monthly and year-end sales forecasts, control SGA budgets, develop sales plans, and generate customer and market share reports.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and product offerings.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on account status and performance.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree AND 5 or more years of experience managing an existing book of business.
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales tools.
- Critical thinking skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on relationship building.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to implement long-term plans.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50 percent, overnight.
