The Key Customer Service Specialist will serve as the main contact for buyers in the Geiger Winter People division, ensuring strong relationships with sales partners and adhering to customer branding guidelines. They will handle order processing, returns, and customer inquiries, while also ensuring compliance with safety and labeling standards. The specialist will maintain direct communication with clients and sales partners, manage PopUp websites for ordering, and collaborate on resolving financial discrepancies, operating with autonomy under general supervision.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary contact for specific buyers in the Geiger Winter People division, ensuring solid relationships with assigned sales partners and corporate contacts.
- Develop an understanding of customer branding guidelines and assist sales partners in meeting or exceeding their sales figures and goals by providing creative selling ideas and staying current with industry trends.
- Process customer orders received via telephone, email, Internet, and written communication, and handle authorizations for returns, credits, and exchanges.
- Ensure all purchasing adheres to product safety laws and Geiger’s guidelines for labeling and testing, securing sales representative approval for product recommendations.
- Follow through on orders and issues from inception to completion, including order entry, shipping follow-up, claims, order maintenance, and expedited order negotiations.
- Maintain direct contact with sales partners and customers, potentially traveling to strengthen relationships, and work in coordination with Program Managers to develop knowledge of Program Accounts.
- Gather data to prepare customized sales, usage, and inventory reports, and manage the creation and maintenance of PopUp websites for customer ordering to maintain profit margins.
- Operate with a degree of independence under general supervision, managing the overall relationship between buyer and Geiger within established policies, and collaborate with management on resolving budget deviations or special pricing arrangements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of overall business operations equivalent to 2 years of college education.
- 4 years of related experience in sales, relationship management, and/or customer service.
- 2 years of industry-specific experience required.
Competencies/Skill
- Strong proficiency in math and analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for effective customer interactions and negotiation.
- Skilled in public speaking for presentations and relationship-building activities.
- Advanced computer literacy for efficient data processing and communication.
- Proven experience in sales, relationship management, and customer service.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills to effectively manage customer and partner expectations.
Physical Requirements:
⦁ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer
⦁ Typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods.
⦁ Answering phone calls and communicating with customers via email.
Mental Requirements:
⦁ Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail.
⦁ Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and manage time effectively.
Environmental Requirements:
⦁ Working indoors in a typical office environment.
⦁ Use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
⦁ Interaction with team members and possibly occasional interactions with customers in person, via phone, or email.
Certification
Industry certification at the CAS (Certified Advertising Specialist) level
