Ando is a collaboration between Momofuku and Expa, and is currently in development. We strive to deliver delicious food, made for delivery.
We are looking for individuals who want to push the envelope in the tech and food delivery scene. Being a part of a new food delivery concept, you will get the experience of a tech start-up and a growing business while working with new dishes of an evolving food menu.
In conjunction with the Chefs and management team, the Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of Ando. Quality control, inventory management, cleanliness & regulatory compliance, team development, packing and assembly oversight, and courier management are some of the things this role will contribute!
Some other things you'll be doing:
- Overseeing the team’s successful and efficient execution of day to day operations
- Serving as point person for all BOH administrative duties, these include but are not limited to: ordering, inventory, invoicing & food costing
- Training BOH staff on proper execution of menu items as determined by the Chef
- Assist in staffing, developing and scheduling staff
- Monitor kitchen production, ensuring company standard operating procedures are met and maintained
- Enforce kitchen safety and sanitation procedures
- Maintain consistency and quality of food being produced in the kitchen
- Management of opening and closing duties of the kitchen
- Communicate between BOH and management teams in ensuring the guest experience is met with quality
- Send daily service reports and hr related processes such as trail paperwork, worker’s comp, and accident reports.
- Manage inventory and costs with the Finance department
- Support staffing needs for BOH open positions
- Manage checklists for staff duties, order sheets, POS (Aloha) management, tracking of sales and helping facilitate new BOH projects
- A minimum of 2-3 years of BOH kitchen experience (prep, line cook, expeditor, etc)
- 1+ years of Management experience
- Familiarity with BOH administrative duties a must
- NYCDOH certification required
- Strong food & beverage knowledge
- Fast-paced, high volume experience
- Proven ability in teaching and mentoring kitchen employees
- Exceptional critical thinking & communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
- Experience in multi-chain fast food + fast casual concepts highly preferred
- Familiarity with KDS / Kitchen Display technology highly preferred
- Expediting experience preferred
