Lad Lake is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for the youth in our residential facility. We understand the importance of nutritious meals in their growth and well-being. We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Cook to join our team. As a Food Service Cook at our youth residential facility, your responsibilities will include preparing and serving nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for cooking and a desire to positively impact young people's lives. This role also involves working collaboratively with staff to provide a supportive dining experience for the residents. This position is Monday through Friday, 9:30-5:30 pm, and every third weekend, 7 am-1 pm.
The Food Service Cook role requires compliance with all relevant sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and the following of established food production procedures. The position also involves using facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals under established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Plan menus that accommodate varying dietary restrictions and residents' preferences.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards in all food preparation and serving areas.
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining environment
- Assist in serving meals to youth and provide a supportive, positive dining experience
- Participate in training and staff meetings, offering input on meal planning and food service improvements
- Collaborate with residential staff to incorporate nutrition education and cooking activities as part of the daily routine
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to food service and youth supervision
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in food service, including cooking and meal preparation, is preferred.
- Knowledge of DPI Instruction nutrition, food safety regulations, and dietary guidelines for youth is required.
- You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Practical communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.
- You must be able to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks.
- Additionally, candidates must be at least 21 and have a High School Diploma or equalivant.
- To be considered, weekend availability is required.
Compensation details: 17-17 Yearly Salary
