Job Story
The Application Systems Analyst provides system support and limited application development for Koch Supply & Trading applications. The Application Systems Analyst will be responsible for in-depth ownership of one or more enterprise applications. In addition, the Application Systems Analyst will provide support and monitoring for nearly two hundred specialized business applications on a company-wide level. Candidates for the job should possess strong analytical skills and over time be able to demonstrate knowledge of both business processes and applications. Ideal candidates will provide support for up to 300 applications and demonstrate the ability to act as Subject Matter Experts and ownership. Candidate must have a willingness to succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment with the ability to provide outstanding customer service while working under pressure. The candidate should be capable of identifying, managing, and implementing system improvements, while also building and maintaining business relationships with internal clients. The candidate should also be proactive, and team-oriented, possess good interpersonal communication skills, and have a motivating passion for the discovery, investigation, and utilization of new, cutting-edge technologies. The candidate needs to be highly motivated and willing to put forth extra effort to get the job done.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Providing analysis and problem definition for production issues while maintaining outstanding customer focus.
Consulting with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify application objectives.
Streamlining and improving existing processes.
Participate in the weekday On-Call and Queue user and technical support from 8 am to 8 PM CST, Monday to Friday.
Authoring documentation to describe application installation, operating, and troubleshooting procedures and best practices.
Ensuring 24/7 system availability by reviewing, establishing, and modifying as necessary, monitoring and maintenance schedules.
Proactively identifying areas of risk and recommending solutions to eliminate or minimize them.
Be a student of project management best practices and practice agile methodologies.
Collaborate with support and project team members daily and ensure timely execution of assigned tasks.
Proactively monitor application processes for all systems during US Weekdays from 8 AM to 8 PM CST.
Manage and own all tickets in KS&T’s Service Now (SNOW) queue, responding based on specified ticket priority and in keeping with Service Level Agreements (SLA) time commitments, delegating responsibility as needed.
Manage, including tracking, all incoming support requests on x2223.
Respond to automated system alerts for all applications, servers, databases, etc.
Escalation and notification of outages and production issues to customers, IT teams, and management as necessary.
Coordinating with different teams, vendors, KBS Help Desk, and System Coordinators to resolve issues and ensure systems are running nominally.
Understand and resolve root causes of anomalies.
Provide analysis and problem definition for production issues.
Ensure system availability by reviewing and helping set system maintenance schedules.
Document any new issues encountered for future reference.
Possess knowledge of business processes and applications.
Understand system criticality and business impact.
Implement procedures to actively improve system supportability.
When necessary, execute migrations in staging and production environments to include the installation of required software on Servers.
Proactively identify areas of risk to bring about awareness and recommend solutions to eliminate or limit risks.
Provide a detailed handoff, verbally or written, of support issue(s) to the next On Call responsible team member, which includes forwarding of x2223, Service queue management, and application process monitoring.
