The Laboratory Manager position is responsible for the operational and clinical activities of the IVF Laboratory. This position is responsible for the oversight of technical and day-to-day operations within the laboratory. This position requires a focus on patient service, maintenance of the highest technical standards and provision of the services and resources necessary to support IVF Florida. In addition, this position is responsible for the direct supervision of laboratory staff and is a member of the Practice's Management Team. This position also serves patients by performing laboratory services in accordance with the Laboratory Operations Manual and Laboratory Philosophy and Performance Standards to ensure that pregnancy outcomes meet or exceed industry and practice standards.
We currently have an opening for a full-time Lab Manager to work in our fast paced, high volume, Lab located at our Margate, FL office. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm. Occasional holiday and weekends required.
How You'll Contribute: We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the Lab Manager is responsible for:
Technical Responsibilities:
• Demonstrated proficiency in all technical areas of the laboratory services and procedures:
• Identification, assessment and culture of oocytes.
• Sperm preparation and insemination of oocytes.
• Embryo culture.
• Assessment and selection of embryos for transfer.
• Embryo Vitrification, storage and warming.
• Media preparation.
• Oocyte Vitrification, storage and warming.
• Recording and reporting laboratory results in Artworks.
• TBSA, PESA, TESA, TESE collection.
• Oocyte denuding & ICSI insemination.
• PGD biopsy (optional).
• Achieve level of proficiency in all areas of the lab that allow for multitasking, training of junior staffers, and high productivity.

Other Specific Requirements:
• Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directed. This includes advanced procedures requiring micromanipulation of gametes or embryos.
• Clear, professional and timely communication with staff, physicians and patients
• Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises.
• Maintain technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures.
• Prepare staff work schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists and to specific research projects.
• Develop the proficiency necessary for oversight of technical staff in their use of Artworks and Vision.
• Participate in initial training and authorization of new staff, the CTI program, and assure that specific priorities within the CTI program are congruent with the performance of individual technologists.
• Assist in the management of the import and export of cryopreserved embryos and sperm and provide the data necessary to generate invoices for these services.
• Reviews and oversees cryopreservation program. Provide technical advice to lab staff.
• Supervises, orients, and instructs laboratory personnel and assists in performance evaluations.
• Oversees all Embryology laboratory procedures and training.
• Interviews all new embryologist, and junior support staff
• Aids in trouble shooting lab issues.
• Attends departmental meetings and implements new processes as necessary to improve performance
• Review budget and costs annually for laboratory.
• Reviews with IVF Manager day-to-day operations and success rates.
• Reviews and oversees cryopreservation program. Give technical advice to lab staff.
• Consults with embryology staff and Manager about quality control concerns and advises.
• Helps trouble shoot equipment issues.
• Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies (including OSHA) are updated and reviewed annually by all Embryologists.
What You'll Bring:
• Must meet the CLIA requirements of education and experience.
• Must be thoroughly familiar with Laboratory Operations Manual.
• Must demonstrate skills and aptitude appropriate to the position.
• Must demonstrate a good work ethic and commitment to participate in appropriate programs of continuing education and professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge in the laboratory specialty.
• Must have ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
• Must have knowledge of office procedure and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.).
• Must have ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Must have ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have Masters Degree, be a Senior Embryologist, minimum 5 years of experience, 2 in manager or supervisor position, nice to have HCLD but not required
