Summary:
This position is responsible for securing and maintaining medical specimens (cadavers), and their proper disposition following laboratory use. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values; and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in management or a health related field.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Able to work and problem-solve independently and efficiently.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate on-call autopsy procedure, including scheduling on-call staff, monitoring on-call invoices and submitting invoices for payment
• Develop, implement, and maintain system for laboratory supply inventory, including initiating routine supply orders, tracking deliveries, verifying receipts, and following up with Rush and outside venders as necessary
• Develop, implement, and maintain system for equipment inventory and maintenance, which includes documentation of receipt and disposal, scheduling of routine and preventative lab equipment maintenance, and annual preventative maintenance invoice review.
• Develop, implement, and maintain system for glass tissue slide, paraffin-embed tissue block, and case folder inventory and sign-out.
• Monitor and maintain weekly/monthly/annual safety logs.
• Maintain documents in Sharepont Library, including tracking protocol and study work-up revisions and coordinating annual document review by managers/supervisors.
• Monitor autopsy caseload for contracted autopsies. This includes tracking cases through lab workflow, obtaining missing documentation, distributing completed case reports, and initiating invoices when appropriate.
• Utilizing the data management system, coordinate intra and inter-rater data collection, following the receipt of selected cases. This includes creating a set of unique test project IDs for each rater, de-identifying and distributing slides to rater(s), and tracking test project ID data entry into data management system.
• Coordinate laboratory visits, which may include new equipment demonstrations and trainings, collaborators and visiting professors, NIH supplemental trainings, outside pathology site visits, and media.
• Coordinate and schedule internal laboratory meetings and conferences.
• Work with training administration to coordinate employee laboratory tours and shadowing opportunities.
• Oversee facility work orders
• Oversee inventory of scrubs and lab coats which includes coordinating laundering and replacement.
• Assist Lab manager and administration with special projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
