About the Job
The Lab Technician provides support to the quality department by inspecting products at various stages of the manufacturing process. Ensures that productscomply withcustomer requirements.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or standards to inspect product throughout manufacturing processes todetermineif it is fit for conformance or customer requirements.This can include dimensional, attribute, performance, mechanical,or chemical characteristics.
- Supportscalibration of tools and gages asrequired.
- Utilizesvarious typesof measurement equipmentrequiredto evaluate product conformance (calipers, micrometers, gage pins, thread gages,etc.).
- Leads and/or supports gage R&R or related measurement system analysis activities asrequired.
- Assistswith identifying and correcting quality issues.
- Assistsin coordinating assigned quality assurance processes throughout all manufacturing operations.
- Performsfirst-piece inspections to requirements.
- Performslayered process audits and internal audits as scheduled.
- Performsdimensional layouts asrequired.
- Completesother duties as assigned.
Job Skills Requirements
- Sound knowledge of metal production and manufacturing, including cutting, forming, welding, anddestructiontesting.
- Basic understanding of MSA (Measurement Statistical Analysis) interpretation and implementation.
- Applied knowledge inPC-DMIS programing.
- Ability to executeFull Part Layouts.
- Calibration Experience (GAGETraka plus).
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements
- Three years of experience in manufacturing or engineering or related field.
- Equivalentcombination of education and experience may be considered.
