Lab Technician - Actalent

Description: The main function of a Lab Technician Hardware 3 is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications. Responsibilities: + Execute tests on data center compute and cooling hardware. + Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs. + Build test and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation. + Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications. + Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system. + Provide training and support to system designers and users. Basic Skills: + Good verbal and written communication skills. + Analytical and problem-solving ability. + Team player and detail oriented. + Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Technical Skills: + Experience working with datacenter compute hardware - such as servers network switches power delivery units etc. + Experience executing and modifying scripts for compute hardware testing including scripting tools such as Python CLI SSH Redfish Postman etc. + Experience working with UNIX or Linux based operating systems. + Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards. + Experience with electronics test equipment including oscilloscopes network analyzers power supplies DVMs emulators etc. + Experience with server cooling equipment including air cooling liquid cooling and immersion cooling. Education/Experience: + Two or four year technical degree preferred. + 5-7 years of industry experience required. Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field. + Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role. Most of the skills are acquired through the job training if the candidate did have a technical degree in electronics would be a plus.
