Spherion is excited to announce an opportunity for a temporary-to-hire Lab Testing Specialist with a premier sports equipment and apparel company located on the east side of Indianapolis! This unique role blends lab testing with a dynamic warehouse environment.
We're looking for candidates with prior experience in quality control and lab testing, preferably with a background in warehouse operations. Please note that this position involves some physical tasks, so readiness for a hands-on role is essential.

PURPOSE:
This role contributes to the company's mission to be the best sports company in the world by preparing and executing embellishment tests that examine the interactions between the embellishment and the physical material, component, and finished goods. Assisting in development of new embellishment options, including both the embellishment itself and prototyping new articles. This role works divisional for multiple business units.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing Standards
-Support the research, development and set-up of new test methodologies and equipment
Continuously improve existing testing methodologies and equipment
-Support the governance team in defining standards for new test methodologies and equipment
Laboratory Testing
-Execute all kinds of embellishment testing for new and existing embellishment types or materials on physical material, component and finished good decoration tests within the given timelines and according to the latest testing standards
Laboratory Documentation
-Support the evaluation, tracking and analysis of tests results and the writing of scientific reports,
summaries and presentations
-Support proper data management in the respective systems in time and accurate format
Knowledge Transfer
Sample Management
-Unpack, prepare and ship product samples for testing purposes
-Organize short- and long-term storage of product samples and prototypes according to a-01 policy
-Archive keep samples for future reference
Equipment Management
-Maintain Testing facilities and equipment
-Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
work in a warehouse environment with noise, dust and varying temperatures
regularly required to talk, hear; sit, stand and/or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to feel,
handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push, pull, bend, and/or twist for up to twelve (12) hours/day
occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel and/or crouch
occasionally lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds
work safely on elevated surfaces (2 nd level mezzanine)
able to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications:
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills
? Able to adapt and navigate unknown challenges that may fall outside of existing test standards
with no clearcut path from start to finish
? Knowledge of embellishment application processes and basic knowledge of testing standards
and purposes
? Ability to operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment
? Able to work independently
? Able to productively contribute to a team for projects that require collaboration
? Required to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
? Able to work flexible hours and overtime only when needed
? Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and other analytical software as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? High School Diploma/GED. Degree in Engineering or relevant field is preferred. Equivalent
combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
? 3 years of relevant work experience
