About the Job
National law firm seeks a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Litigation Associate to join their team. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing labor and employment litigation matters, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a diverse caseload of labor and employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the company on labor and employment issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on labor and employment laws, precedents, and regulations to inform legal strategies and recommendations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs, and represent the company in hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including HR and management, to address legal concerns, provide training, and develop proactive solutions.
- Conduct internal investigations into labor and employment-related complaints, ensuring a fair and thorough process.
- Review and update employment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices.
- Provide training to management and HR teams on labor and employment law compliance, litigation risks, and effective legal strategies.
- Stay current on developments in labor and employment laws, advising the company on compliance and potential impacts.
- Generate and maintain reports on the status and progress of labor and employment litigation matters for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in California.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience in labor and employment litigation.
- Proven experience in managing labor and employment litigation cases, from initiation to resolution.
Strong understanding of federal and state labor and employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective representation, collaboration, and client communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to legal challenges.
- Ability to adapt to evolving legal landscapes and business needs.
- Collaborative mindset with effective teamwork skills.
Salary:
$175,000 to $195,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications
