Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Assistant(Research).
The Laboratory Assistant Research reports directly to the Associate Director Research Laboratory Operations Research Support Services Responsible for performing advanced lab duties under general supervision as well as more advanced duties under direct supervision Assists senior and supervisory technicians in all procedures Works under general direction Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties
Job Responsibilities:
1Daily routine technical tasks for Glass Wash and Autoclaving services in off site locations
2Responsible for managing daily operations of the Small Instrument Fleet in off Site locations
3Keep all instruments clean and in good working order
4Provide basic training for each instrument upon request
5Assure associated computers are upgraded and in good working order
6Perform regularly scheduled calibrations maintain record of calibrations
7Assist with preventive maintenance procedures do basic repairs
8Provide recommendations for software and hardware upgrades and suggest new instrument purchases
9iLab expertise for billing and managing equipment
10Provides training and guidance to junior level lab staff
11Participates and performs other related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma or equivalent Ability to understand the principles of basic research tests performed in research clinical trials in relation to collection kit inventory assembly and specimen transport Ability and desire to work in a team setting at a fast pace; Strong organizational skills as well as patience and steady commitment toward achievement of goals; Good analytical skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems; Ability to solve non routine issues; Strong computer skills Microsoft Office Suite ; Strong communication skills Ability to work independently Execute their work in accordance with standards of the Federal Regulations relating to Human Subjects Excellent communication administrative and time management skills are necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment Must be able to manage competing priorities with close attention to details Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills required Will train as needed

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $28,514.00 - $45,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
