Hours
Two (2) eight hour shifts per week. Hours vary from 6 AM - 2:30 PM, 8 AM - 4:30 PM, or 9:30 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday.
Summary
Under the supervision of the Client Service Supervisor, the Laboratory Customer Service Representative (LCSR) is responsible for multi-tasking clerical and customer service support functions as part of the laboratory team. The LCSR provides the connectivity between the provider offices, staff and inter/intra department areas through modalities such as fax, phone and computer.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some college level education preferred.
Certification, Registration & Licensure
Experience
Two years’ experience in a laboratory or healthcare related position. Well-developed typing skills with additional education or training in client relations and/or communications desirable.
Responsibilities
- Handles incoming telephone calls and requests for the laboratory department.
Manages client call lists, laboratory generated reports and reference laboratory generated reports to meet production goals.
Processes Client Problem Reports (CPRs) that are generated by various laboratory departments.
Sends slides/blocks out for consultation upon requests of Pathologist, Physician or Patient.
Supports the organization of Tumor Conferences and Transfusion Practice Committee (TPC) meetings for Pathologists.
Provides customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
