Responsibilities:
- Accurately perform specimen analysis
- Phlebotomies
- Specimen Collection
- POC (point of care) Testing (iSTAT and INR)
- Maintain Specimen Integrity throughout Specimen Collection
- Run Hematology Analyzer (Sysmex)
- Documents/Verifies Results in necessary programs (iKnowMed and Orchard)
- Work with the team to insure compliance with COLA & CLIA regulations
- Oversees the daily operations of the lab
- Reviews and manages quality control
- Manages staffing schedules based on volumes
- Performs specimen analysis of all Chemistry, Hematology and Immunology specimens as directed.
- Records results on appropriate worksheet and computer system and performs file maintenance. Processes specimens for send-out testing.
- Maintains an adequate supply of reagents and consumables and maintains appropriate records. Prepares smear and performs differential on peripheral blood smear.
- Performs microscopic examination of urinary sediment as ordered. Performs other laboratory tests as ordered. Verifies all critical results and documents with accurate follow-up.
- Processes specimens for Reference Laboratory testing. Performs proficiency testing quarterly.
- Performs daily, weekly and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated.
- Accurately charges the encounter forms for laboratory work performed. Logs in and reviews reference laboratory results.
Qualifications:
- ASCP Certification Required
- 5-7 years of laboratory experience required
- Prior leadership experience desired
- Previous hematology and oncology experience preferred
