Responsibilities:This job is responsible for auditing regional laboratory clinical activities for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health to assure compliance with applicable accreditation standards which include maintaining regulatory survey readiness, test method validation plan approval, document control and analyzing quality assurance data.
An incumbent conducts ongoing quality assurance activities through extensive review/audit, assessing current standards, identifying compliance gaps, reporting vulnerabilitys to management/key stakeholders and preparing reports/recommendations for corrective action as necessary.
Work also includes: 1) reviewing new/revised policies for conformance to standards; 2) assisting Lab management with submittal of change template(s); 3) tracking and trending Lab events to promote/facilitate systemic performance improvement solutions; 4) maintaining a quality assurance calendar of regulatory requirements; 5) reviewing current document control practices assure compliance with accreditation standards; and 6) assisting with documenting, communicating and implementing process changes.
Work requires knowledge of CAP/CLIA regulatory requirements, quality regulations/standards and CHI Franciscan Laboratory operating and quality assurance/control procedures.

Qualifications:Requires Bachelor’s degree and four years of related laboratory work experience.
Prefer experience in Lab Quality Assurance and Compliance
Requires National MT certification with ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or Certification with the US. Department of Health and Human Services as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist; OR MLT certification with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a chemical/physical/biological or other life science.
