Salary Range: $17.50-$22.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8 hour shifts
The Lab Technician II supports the analyst in providing more advanced sample preparation services, and assistance in analyses set-up or calculations. They may also perform more advanced designated analyses using well-defined standards and procedures.
• Prepares samples for designated analyses.
• Prioritizes sample and prep analysis by hold times and due dates.
• Checks the work log and schedules daily work in keeping with the overall lab schedules and sample holding times.
• Obtains the sample from sample receiving department.
• Prepares samples according to standard operational procedure.
• Confers with supervisor or the responsible analyst of any problem.
• Records weight/volume of samples, dilutions and spiked sample preparation in into LIMS.
• Verifies the data entered in to LIMS and batch sheets is accurate.
• Conducts designated analyses.
• Prepares standards.
• Performs analyses according to standards procedures.
• Reviews data to check that results meets qualify control requirements and submits data and results.
• Reports quality control data and sample results.
• Miscellaneous laboratory equipment operation.
• Sees that there is sufficient supply of consumable inventory. When necessary, submits request for reorder to supervisor
for approval.
• Makes entries in the log books/LIMS when applicable
• Maintains a clean and organized bench space
• Serves as mentor to Technician I
Job Requirements:
Two (2) years college chemistry or related science and three (3) years related experience.
PC skills required, preferably MS Office applications.
Detail oriented with strengths in multi-tasking and following a prescriptive set of instructions.
