Wieland is hiring a Laborer III. The Laborer III will be responsible for sort and organize metal material according to guidelines.  Maintain good housekeeping of assigned area.  Dismantle and separate materials using hand tools or operation of a machine.  Assemble and package metals for shipping.This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site. 

Starting Pay:  $18/hr

Schedule: 7 am - 3:30 pm

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Laborer III Responsibilities:

• Sort and organize metal material into bins, boxes or bags.
• Operate and observe machines that are chopping and separating metals.
• Sorting of material by hand at shredder, shaker table or other machines.
• Dismantle metal by use of hand tools or other mechanical means.
• Experience working in two or more departments.
• Demonstrate ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work without supervision and accomplish tasks provided.
• Perform routine inspection of work area to ensure proper housekeeping.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety or HR.
• Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• Demonstrate good judgement and asks questions as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness in work area.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals.
• Willingness to follow direction of department leader(s).
• Other duties as assigned.

Laborer III Qualifications:

• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• Use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to grasp, handle separate and hold objects.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, sit and use stairs or a ladder.
• Maintain safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility.
• Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
