SUMMARY
Works on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require
workers with varied experience and ability to work without close supervision by performing the following duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Laborer position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to
grade specifications.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications.
• Mix concrete; smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete.
• Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections; bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
• Connect pipes and secure them to structure using appropriate bracket, clamp or hanger.
• Dig trenches if needed with trenching tools.

• Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and fellow employees by interpreting instructions given in verbal, written,
diagram, or schedule form.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
• Driver's License and vehicle.
• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; speak and hear; regularly lift and/or move up to 50
pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities including
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
