North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Equipment Operator shall operate one or several types of power construction equipment, such as excavators, shovels, tractors, or front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete or other hard surface pavement. May repair and maintain equipment in addition to other duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On occasion, will need to run chippers, skid steers and other small equipment.
- Operation of heavy equipment such as a tractor, bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator, for the purposes of construction, demolition, or excavation in a high-production industrial setting
- Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport it
- Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure it's in good working order
- Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction site
- Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctly
- Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was used
- Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or waste
- Completing minor repair work as needed
- Take direction from site superintendent on specific daily roles, could vary greatly from day to day in scope and job location.
- Must be able to fill out timecard software and Excel spreadsheets.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in working outdoors assisting heavy equipment at setting small structures, moving dirt, moving gravel and setting construction matting, etc.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to pull and back trailers of all sizes and hitch types onto tight locations and around tight corners.
- A self-starter who can see what needs to be done and get it done unsupervised.
- Easy to work with, excellent work ethic.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow supervisory verbal and written instructions and designated health and safety requirements.
Special Requirements:
- Must have a valid state driver's license
- Proof of citizenship will be required as a condition of employment.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 10 Certification a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Can lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions or difficult terrain.
