JOB DESCRIPTION Title: LaborerDepartment/Division: Rancho Luna MiaStatus: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends)Supervisor: Utilities ManagerSubordinates: NoneBenefits

Company matches half of employee's contribution up to 7% Vacation Earn up to 13 days per year for FT employees Sick Leave Earn up to 13 days per year for FT employees Life Insurance The Company provides up to $25,000.00 POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Utilities Manager and the Chairman, the Laborer will assist in the maintenance of the Rancho Luna Mia property and care of the onsite animals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Keeps weeds and overgrowth to a minimum.Feeds animals multiple times daily or rotates animals to graze.Water pastures when needed to keep fields in good condition.Monitor and, when necessary, repair irrigation systems. Operates vehicles and other motor-driven machinery to complete tasks.Check and repair fencing.Trim trees, shrubs and bushes on the property.Plant trees, prune, apply fertilizer and herbicides, and control rodents.Performs other related duties as directed by the Chairman or Utilities Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of irrigation systems is required.Knowledge of small equipment such as tractors with farming attachments.Knowledge of mowing, trimming, and pruning.Must be reliable and dependable.Ability to lift, stand, and work in various weather conditions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be at least 18 years or older.High School graduate or equivalent education (GED) or related fields preferred.Have experience with landscaping tools, brush, trees, and general agriculture. Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment. Must pass pre-employment (including marijuana) and random drug testing during employment. Must have a valid California class C driver's license.A background check will be required.Indian preference will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:All employees are expected to follow the Tribal Employee Handbook of the Pala Band of Mission Indians and must adhere to any additional applicable addendums.
