Objectives of this Role:
- The Applied Power Division strives to have functional, well-maintained, and presentable lab spaces, work spaces, breakrooms, conference rooms and restrooms.
- The role of the Laborer in the Applied Power Division is fast paced and requires the ability to multi-task.
- Duties include operating industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining facilities, cleaning facilities, escorting duties, safe chemical handling, and general laborer tasking.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners & power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming carpet, steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Occasional stripping, sealing, and polish of floors.
- Independently clean offices, laboratories, lobbies, breakrooms, conference rooms, dust furniture, and fixtures.
- Gather and empty trash receptacles. Service, clean, and supply restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Notify manager concerning the need for major or minor repairs.
- Ability to work at a steady, diligent pace to complete assigned duties within allotted timeframe and quality standards.
- Additional equipment operation, escorting duties, and other duties to be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years: General laborer or janitorial experience.
- Self-Motivated individual with strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
- Must have the ability to walk or stand for the duration of the work shift.
- TS/SCI security clearance is preferred.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
