Reingold’s Internship Program
A Reingold intern has high standards and a fearless mindset. Our interns are energetic, innovative, take initiative, and demonstrate professionalism in everything they do. This internship program is your opportunity to discover what it really means to work for a full-service communications agency. You’ll learn the ins and outs of your department, work as a valued member of project teams, and collaborate with experts in various departments. You’ll even get a chance to present some of your own work to the entire firm. Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20 per hour. The 2024 spring internship class begins on Thursday, January 23, 2025- Friday, May 9, 2025. Core hours during the internship are 9am to 5:30pm eastern. The spring Internship requires in-office attendance at our Alexandria, VA location 5 days a week.
What It Means to be a Reingold LAMP Development Intern
Are you curious about how your favorite website works? Do you want to get an under-the-hood look at a website’s HTML and learn how it gets to your browser? Do you read the word “lamp” and think Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP? If so, Reingold may be the place for you!
Intern responsibilities may include:
- Enhancing web features and helping gather requirements.
- Maintaining process flow and documentation and being able to work from written specifications and guidelines.
- Collaborating with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
- Modeling data for content management systems, considering both the application structure and the end-user authoring experience.
- Performing ad hoc tasks depending on your skills and our needs.
We’re looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Formal training in computer science or web development, through either a four-year college program or an immersive professional training program.
- Familiarity with content management systems, especially WordPress or Drupal.
- Ability to write clean, scalable code.
- Experience in Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL or MariaDB.
- Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Ability to use established development tools, guidelines, and conventions, including Visual Studio Code, local and remote server environments, and Git source control.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to consult and collaborate with senior managers and clients.
- Curious, problem-solving attitude.
