Duties, Responsibilities & Other:
- Design and prepare deliverables for multiple land development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets.
- Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D AutoCAD software.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in site civil engineering, preferably in Maryland
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards
- Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Appropriate graduate level work is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 - 9 years of professional experience.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
- Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
- Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
- Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
- Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
- Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
- Complete other duties as required/assigned
- Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
- Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
- Chart and provide task performance results
- Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
- Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
- Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
- Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
- Provide technical project and staff oversight
- Serve as task manager on select projects
- Compare field data to base plan
- Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
- Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
- Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
- Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
- Review and approve shop drawings
- Complete Annual Individual Training Program
