About the Job
Purpose
The Landscape Supervisor, reporting to the Landscape Superintendent, plays a crucial role in leading a team of laborers. The primary areas of focus include common grounds maintenance, new resident installations, and team leadership.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Common Grounds Maintenance
- Collaborate with the Landscape Superintendent to plan and execute routine maintenance of common grounds.
- Ensure the highest aesthetic standards in mowing, trimming, pruning, and fertilization.
- Oversee the quality control measures for ongoing landscape care and maintenance.
- New Resident Installs
- Work with the Superintendent to coordinate the design and installation of personalized landscapes for new residents.
- Supervise laborers to efficiently execute plantings, hardscapes, and irrigation systems.
- Maintain and manage plant and material integrity and quality prior to installation.
- Ensure the successful implementation of landscape designs based on resident preferences.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise the landscaping team, providing guidance, support, and effective communication.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent to schedule and assign work, ensuring timely project completion.
- Enforce safety guidelines during all landscaping activities and conduct regular safety training for the team.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape maintenance and installation.
- Previous supervisory or Supervisor experience preferred.
- Valid Drivers License
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of plants, horticulture, and landscaping techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to plan and execute landscape designs based on resident preferences.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Budget management skills with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, twist, kneel, lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand and continuously move for up to 8 hours at a time. Must be willing to work in an outdoor environment for up to 8 hours at a time.
