Part Time Contractor needed to service current large animal clients in Iowa.
While working with the Armor Animal Health team this Contracted Veterinarian will be responsible for assisting the producer to reach full genetic potential of their herds and to help them attain their animal health and production goals.
The Vet will do this by actively engaging clients in discussions about their operation, assisting in problem solving by performing investigations, identifying problems and developing solutions with the producers while driving sales of lab/diagnostics and Armor's animal health products as appropriate, as well as by partnering with Sales Representatives to promote appropriate non-Rx products and services to augment therapy recommendations.
Requirements would be to regularly schedule ride-alongs with sales reps to help further develop their technical knowledge and model communication techniques with producers and conduct on-farm training such as demonstrating and teaching procedures such as tubing calf, oral fluid administration, IV catheterization, drawing blood, collecting lab samples, for example.
Licensed veterinarian that is currently licensed to practice in Iowa. Federal Accreditation.
Education and/or Experience:
Requires a DVM Degree, additional degrees and training a plus. Practice experience critical to perform duties. Iowa Veterinarian license required; other states desirable. Federal Accreditation.
Must have an overall understanding of the dairy and beef industries; knowledge of animal production, nutrition, and products used in successful operations. 4+ years of production animal experience required.
