Latin America Sales Manager, Specialty Polymers - Gpac

About the Job
U.S. home based position with minimum 50% travel to the Latin America region territory. Must reside in U.S. currently, have current U.S. work authorization, and visa sponsorship is not considered for this role.
Responsible for Latin America sales of Specialty Polymers in markets including industrial packaging, automotive, wire and cable, and others. This position works in collaboration with a broader team including Customer Service, Supply Chain, R&D, Technical Support & Development, Product Management, Marketing and Finance.
- Initiate and organize sales meetings with existing and prospective customers to identify customer and market needs, and value-sell specialty polyethylene and polypropylene based resins
- Achieve sales goals in assigned territory, based on business strategy
- Build and maintain strong, lasting customer partnerships across purchasing, technical, operational and senior management personnel at customers, to help drive customer purchasing decisions
- Provide appropriate sales forecasts, capitalize on positive market trends, and plan appropriate fallback options during market contraction
- Implement a disciplined approach towards maximizing profit margins through pricing, contracts, commercial terms, on-time customer payments, and controlling working capital
- Develop key account plans, build internal cross-functional alignment, and drive implementation of strategies outlined in the account plans
- Build a strong knowledge of company products, and recommend appropriate product technologies and solutions, in conjunction with the TS&D team, into market applications
- Visit customer manufacturing plants, labs, pilot test facilities, to coordinate product trials and qualifications
- Gather and share competitive intelligence information across various company teams, to influence decisions around growth and investments
- Maintain sales opportunity pipeline list, and proactively coordinate internally and with customers, to convert opportunities into commercial success
- Provide monthly progress reports at sales meetings, analyze results, and identify positive highlights to be reinforced or areas for improvement
- Coordinate involvement of Sales Director, TS&D and R&D teams, to identify appropriate products and solutions to solve customer problems, and/or drive growth into new markets and applications
- Respond to customer’s requests related to raw material questionnaires, confidentiality agreements and Environmental Health and Safety information
- Participate in conferences and exhibitions to promote company products and solutions
Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred but not required.
- Education: Masters or PhD preferred in polymer or material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer or material science
- Minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience
- Ideal candidate will have prior experience in a technical services or R&D type role
