Overview
Laundry Attendants are responsible for feeding linens into commercial cleaning equipment, ironing and folding washed linens, and ensuring we maintain the highest standard of quality for client-provided garments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate laundry equipment properly, safely and efficiently.
- Feed garments into equipment.
- Operate ironing and folding equipment.
- Untangle knotted linen when required.
- Manually attend to garments as necessary.
- Sort, count and pre-treat soiled linen in preparation for laundering.
- Load and unload washers and dryers.
- Fold, store and distribute towels and linens.
- Maintain clean work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Role Skills and Requirements
- Prior laundry experience is preferred, specifically in hospitality industry.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all employees, vendors and clients.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Must be quick learner as this is a production-based environment.
- Ability to work fast-paced environment.
- Capable of lifting, bending, stooping, and pushing heavy loads; standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry thirty (30) to fifty (50) pounds.
- Flexible schedule required, including willingness to work morning/afternoon/evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
