About the Job
Under minimum supervision,the Layup Operator isresponsiblefor the handlayupof advanced composite materials on designated toolingper specificwork instructions,travelers,and/or customerspecifications.Tasksincludedin this position aretooling fabrication,toolprep for lay-up,hand lay-upof pre-preg composite materialusinga variety of techniques and processes,vacuumbagging,precisiontrimming ng andlayuptechniques.
Responsibilities:- Build composite parts usingappropriate handlayuptechniques.
- Utilizes lasersystemfor accuratelayupof plies on toolsduringlayupprocess.
- Fitand smooth successivelayersof materials as necessary tosecure build-up free from wrinkles,airpocketsandvoids followingdirections and instructions.
- Vacuum bag parts for room temperature, oven,and autoclave.
- Performs in-process inspections as instructedon travelersand as delegated by quality. Readsprecisionmeasuringtoolsandinstruments.
- Accurately recordstime worked on operationsth roughEpicor.
- Visually inspect for F.O.D. prior to baggingVacuum bag parts and leak test bags.
- Responsible for the accurate recording of alI paperwork associatedwiththe position.Marks identifyinginformation on parts.
- Uses chemicals, adhesives,and solventsas required. Cleanand prep bond tools
- Observe safety andsecurityprocedures. Report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Adapts to changesi n the work environment;Manages competingdemands; Changesapproachor methodto best fit the situation;Able to deal withfrequent change,delays,or unexpected events.
- Ability for neatnessand cleanas you go tokeep areas FOO free. Ability to read andunderstand blueprintsanddrawings.

Work Authorization
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for this position as TIGHITCO which is subject to ITAR regulation and compliance.
Experiencein aerospace manufacturing preferred.
Education and/orExperience HighSchooldiploma orgeneraleducationdegree(GED);or oneto three monthsrelated experienceand/ortraining;orequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperience.
