- GENERAL SUMMARY
- The LCSW Clinical Social Worker (CAP) conducts evidence-supported psychotherapy of maltreated children and families. Reports to the Executive Director of CAP.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluates children for symptoms of trauma and its impact and determines treatment and other needs.
- Conducts evaluation of parents and other adults to determine their capacity to care for children in a healthy way.
- Assimilates and summarizes data generated from evaluation and writes a thorough report including findings and recommendations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Current Virginia license as a License Clinical Social Worker (LSCW).
- MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Approximately six to twelve months on-the-job experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in evaluation and treatment of child maltreatment population and their families.
- Experience in implementing evidence-based treatments with children and families.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary approach.
- Ability to work as a team player within a multidisciplinary approach.
- Experience in working with investigative agencies and community resources.
Increased Security Clearance may be Required: Recurring FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, Child Protective Services registry search, and Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender.
- Increased Security Clearance Required for Job Roles in Medical Tower II: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, and Child Protective Services registry search.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
