Job Summary
Medline Industries is seeking a Data Governance Lead to fill a new role within Information Technology to support the execution of Medline’s Master Data Governance Strategy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and system analysis for our cross-functional, business-led Master Data Governance program. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and Support Master Data Governance Initiative
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Master Data Governance policies and procedures across all domains (Product, Customer, Vendor, and Finance)
Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across all business units
Provide guidance and support to business units in adhering to data governance standards.
System Analysis and Support
Analyze and evaluate the system impacts of various Master Data Policies
Collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement data governance solutions
Monitor and report on data governance metrics and KPIs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to discuss data governance issues and solutions.
Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure alignment on data governance objectives
Training and Development
Develop and deliver training programs on data governance best practices
Mentor and support team members in data governance activities
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data governance
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, engineering, science, or computer science or other data related field.
Certification / Licensure:
None required.
Work Experience:
At least 6 years of relevant experience, related to data management or data governance with a demonstrated track record in implementing MDM tools and initiatives.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to influence key stakeholders to follow a standard governance process.
Ability to design, implement, and maintain data models that can scale and accommodate a variety of data types.
Ability to identify, rectify, and prevent data quality issues.
Knowledge of techniques to integrate data from various sources and ensure a single version of truth.
Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive insights.
Grasp of organizational business processes to understand how data flows and how it can be optimized.
Experience in leading cross-functional projects and managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for a non-technical audience.
Experience in working in a highly matrix reporting structure with a focus on driving standardization across the enterprise.
Experience working with cross functional teams and having strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Knowledge of SAP.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
MBA
Certification / Licensure
Certification(s) in Master Data Management or Data Governance.
Work Experience
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations related to data (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Experience with MDM solutions such as Informatica.
