Whale's Tale is open 12 months out of the year and looking for a reliable, experienced bartender. We do have housing options available. As a busy restaurant, we need a bartender with a positive customer service mindset who can ensure patrons have a wonderful time at the bar. Your duties will include taking customer orders, preparing a range of conventional and unique cocktails, offering beer and wine recommendations, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area at all times. This role requires a highly motivated individual with great organizational abilities and a customer-focused mentality. Compensation:$20,000
Responsibilities:- Verify customers' identification age to ensure they are of legal age and provide alcoholic drinks in compliance with federal, state, municipal, and corporate rules and regulations
- Responsible for inventory, ordering and stocking of all wine, liquor, and beer. Maintains an inventory of glassware and promptly communicates any shortages to management.
- Receive payments and settle patron checks and tabs, as well as correctly record daily sales totals in point of sale system
- Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including wine, beer, liquor, mixed drinks, and more
- Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification (GED)
- Previous experience working in food service is preferred
- Proven customer service experience with a strong patron-focused mentality
- Displays impeccable time management and organizational skills
We are a family-owned business in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Our restaurant is attached to a seasonal marina that caters to yachts that travel up and down the Maine coast. We are looking for someone who can produce and execute a high-quality menu for our high-profile clients. There are no high-end restaurants in the area and this need must be fulfilled. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic. In the summer season we are open 7 days a week 11am-9pm. In the winter we go down to six days a week. We do have employee housing.
