Overview:
The Department of Evaluation & Decision Science at Mercy Virtual is seeking a Clinical Analyst to work within a team of evaluation and data analytic professionals in the design and execution of projects to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of Mercy Virtual’s health service programs and support decision-making within the emerging virtual healthcare segment. This is a great opportunity to work on the forefront of technology and methodology to address challenging health care questions and uncover the keys to the successful delivery of virtual healthcare services. The candidate should have an affinity for learning and a growth mindset, be able to effectively develop, document, and communicate project plans, demonstrate expertise with evaluative and data analytic functions and related software tools, embrace and advocate for change, and deliver outputs on a tight time budget. This position will report to the Director of the Department of Evaluation & Decision Science and provide guidance to a team of Clinical and Data
- Build and manage successful relationships with clinical personnel responsible for delivering virtual care services, department team members, clinical and operational leaders, and other internal and external stakeholders to:
- Gain understanding of and document clinical workflows and supportive technologies;
- Establish and monitor change process and other governance initiatives;
- Develop qualitative and quantitative measures and associated methodologies to assess workflow adherence, data integrity, operational efficiency, and outcomes;
- Design, implement, and evaluate interventions to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and impact of virtual care services;
- Build reports and applications that support ongoing and iterative evaluation of workflows and interventions;
- Report findings on quality and safety to committees and regulatory bodies;
- Communicate results of interventions in both written and verbal formats to broad audiences; and,
- Scale successful interventions across the affected virtual care service(s).
- Supervise other Clinical Analyst in position responsibilities
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Charism
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from a clinically oriented degree program with a Bachelor’s or higher degree award
Experience:
5 years or more of experience in a similar role, or less experience plus certification in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma or Rapid-Cycle Evaluation)
Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Possess a working knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, workflow design, and evaluation methodologies or process improvement in a complex context
- Display understanding of study design, validation, and scientific standards for communication of health care data in the US
- Experience with Analytic tools, such as SAP Business Objects, Qlik, Minitab, R, or SAS
- Experience with EMRs (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, et cetera) and corresponding data storage technologies for transaction and reporting purposes
- Utilize analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding
- Have proven, practical problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience presenting information and data visualization to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner that inspires action
- Possess strong organizational skills and an orientation toward detail
- A team player and servant leadership ethos

Experience:
Previous experience in the supervision of multiple, concurrent projects and project team members
