At the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, our Youth Development Services programs play a crucial role in supporting families within our community. The Lead Business Director role manages the daily business activities for Youth Development Services, including planning, development and implementation of processes. This position leads a dedicated business team in providing excellent customer service while ensuring accuracy and quality. In this position, you will work closely with families, guiding them through the state subsidy application process, providing scholarship assistance, and exploring various financial resources. Your efforts will make a tangible impact, helping families access the vital services they need and ensuring children have a supportive environment to grow and learn.

Hourly Pay Range: $20 - $21

Responsibilities
- Supervises and develops a cohesive Business Administration team focused on execution of duties.
- Responds to parent or school concerns regarding the program in a positive, professional, and timely manner. Communicates program information and answers questions accurately with high-level customer service skills.
- Responsible for the financial assistance award and tracking process.
- Oversees and monitors business processes, including but not limited to, accounts receivable tracking and collection and payment processing
- Oversees third party billing to Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF), and other third-party payers by maintaining files, submitting billing and reconciling accounts as payments are received.
- Responsible for training Youth Development associates as it relates to use of the KinderConnect provider portal and the CCBIS tablets for Missouri DESE billing.
- Provides leadership to ensure that YDS business processes are being handled by associates in an efficient and timely manner while communicating regularly with the Associate Vice President, Finance.
- Ensures business practices are of the highest quality for participant satisfaction through quality control and audit processes for new registrations, changes and withdrawals.
- Processes account adjustments and refunds in registration software.
- Provides communication to program directors regarding new registrations, changes and withdrawals.
- Provides high level registration software training for key associates.
- Maintains ongoing, positive working relationships with Y associates and program participants.
- Provides system support to information technology services to assist in program review, design and setup.
- Evaluates and updates all forms used on a regular basis to reflect new policies, etc.
- Provides assistance or coverage in the absence of other Business Administration Team members
- Attends YDS team meetings as needed.
- Attends customer service trainings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years business experience.
- Experience in supervising a team.
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
- Able to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills, and be multi-task proficient.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software.
- Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record that meets YMCA standards.
